    2. Dont have a part #, but if you are talking about that yellow plstic tube, it costs like $20, my buddy just bought one 2 days ago. ECS sells them for $5.80 http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...ro&engine=1.8T

ECStuning.com or genuineaudiparts.com will have better prices than the dealer.

do you need the dip stick, or dip stick 'tube'?

dip stick: 06B 115 611 C pretty sure it is about $11 dollars on ecs
    genuineaudiparts.com has it for $9

I have not looked up the belt recently so don't know price, but ecs had a complete timing kit for around 3 hundred i think. I only know the dipstick because i am about to order one as well.

    good luck.

Dipstick stuff is maybe 10 min due to trying put it back right.
    Serpantine belt- i dunno.
i think Audi will charge you about $120 /hr for the labor only. And to change a dipstick would be at least 0.5hrs in their book. So that's where 300 comes from.

if the labor is to replace the timing belt, that sounds pretty normal... or even cheap. most people on here are quoted signifigantly more than that.
not sure what standard shop rate is at the dealer, but from what I hear most places quote 6hours labor on timing belt.

you can DIY for the cost of your time. it's not super difficult, just time consuming.

if you are just doing routine maintanance and are keeping the car I would go ahead and do water pump tensioner etc. peace of mind and it is a pain in the ass to get to all the stuff so you might as well do it all at once. plus, the belt itself rarely goes bad, it is typically the (plastic impeller) water pump that fails.
