i know we have an ODBII port but is it not vagcom that is needed to read our codes?

I didnt think the standard ODBII code readers would work...i could be wrong.

I think you're kind of right

there's 3 levels of Vagcom set ups, to my knowledge

The $20 Scottish version (which I have, being Scottish) - free software, $20 cable - this can only do basic convenience changes, and is kind of useless for diagnosis of errors, but is still fun for remote windows/euro lights/seatbelt chime etc. Awesome and EVERYONE should have it.

The $99 version - like above, but must register with Vagcom (partial). also do basic interpretation stuff (i.e. Check Engine Light), but can't scan to determine if anything's about to go wrong

The $700 version - full Monty - does it all

I've got a OBDII scanner and am near Weston and Sheppard if that helps LMK.
