How much should I sell the A4 for??? need to get rid of it.

So I thought it would go pretty fast... it has not and is still in my driveway. I need to sell the car asap. I put it up for $7200 thinking that would do the trick.

1999 a4 1.8t
-Quattro
-Winter Package
-88k miles
-Tiptronic Auto
-Stock, nothing ever modded
-Syn oil used everytime
-Really is in great shape.




Give me some opinions.... I need to get rid of it fast. Also if any of you are interested I will deliver it on the west coast.

With those miles, it seems to be priced right. It could be the color. That dark/hunter green color is not as desireable as it once was back when jeep cherokees were in their prime :)

it is possible to get a 1997-1999 a4 1.8t with similar options for 3-4k thats the problem. I bought a A4 acouple month ago i decided not to spend more then 4k on a black A4 with sports package and other similar options and I found many cars the pick form. I think the problem here is many cheap A4 for sale

make sure you note it is a 99.5 when selling, at least around where i live, ppl will not buy pre facelift cars.

slap a set of larger stock wheels on, those wheels really date the car... would probably cost you $100-$200 total if you sold/traded your stock 15" wheels/tires and would make the car look MUCH better

alright....hmmm...you have nice paint....

I think the things that are holding you back right now is the tiptronic tranny/wheels and wheel gap....

toss some 17"s on it and lower it an inchand a half and you will definitely get more attention.....

I bought a car that was in the same shape yours is in two years ago (same miles/wheels/wheel gap) for 6.5K cash, plus I have a manual....

I would say that your price is definitely on the high side....you should prolly list around 6-6.5k obo....I cant see your car going for 7k....

now that i'm not posting from my phone, i will say this..

i bought my car 3 months ago, 99.5 1.8tqm, it did have 168k on the clock, but everything has been replaced in the last 50k miles, except the tranny. even the motor for some reason i'm not sure of but found a receipt for while digging in the owners manual.

4-5 normal parking lot dings, 9 outta 10 gray letherette interior and i paid 5000

I say its 2 things. Those seats and its auto. Other than that I think the color draws people in. Personally I find it very fashionable ;).

Now I got these bad riders in my 99.5

I would not throw rims and suspension at it. There is no doubt that it is a combination of the Tip and the price. Why should you spend money and time on the car when you will not get back half the money that you put into it and none of the time back. People who are interested in a Tip tranny are likely not interested in the cars wheel gap or whether it has mAd tYte RimZ yO. If you need to sell the car then lower the price big time. With that said, if you have the time, are patient, and list your car properly you can sell the car for your original asking price or more. There are just less people looking to buy a new car right now and you have to be patient if you arent going to give it away. I originally had my Prelude for sale for $4300 but since I NEEDED to sell the car I kept lowering it until I eventually sold it for $2850. The thing that sucks is that the guy who bought it probably would have paid the original $4300 asking price, I just wasnt patient enough to wait so I kept lowering the price thinking I was too high.

Lowering will detract from a lot of available buyers who don't want a low car. Mods don't add much value. Wheels are nice but you'd be better off lowering the price than spending money on wheels and tires.

Price, condition and maintenance records sell cars.

Correction: Mods don't add value to a car.
Unless you drive a Mk4 Supra or a Skyline.

If/when I look for another A4 I know exactly what I want. I got a hunch a lot of people know what they want, and the price isn't low enough for people to change their minds.

For me, it has the wrong: color, trans, interior, engine(yea, I want a 2.8 5V), and suspension. That's me though, you need to find the right buyer.
