b5 sport shock/struts compared to the s4's

I have h&r race springs, is there a big difference in getting Sport shocks/struts compared to the s4 ones? I have a oem non-sport right now but of course they cant handle the race springs so they are bound to blow soon. my car is 2001 1.8TQ

with race springs, the s4 struts will probaly sit just slightly higher than your non-sport struts. A lot of the reason springs handle better is because they sit the car lower to the ground which lowers the center of gravity. jacking up the height to about what it was before and you won't see as drastic improvements. You might not even notice it unless you really push the car and then it wasen't even worth it.

You should not use aftermarket spring on an OEM struts, because the OEM struts are valved specifically for OEM spring rates.....disrupting those spring rates will cause the struts to blow much faster......do not use S4 struts. They are valve for stiffer springs......either way, u'll need aftermarket struts.....don't cheap out on suspension. Save up and do it right

will the h&r at least close up the huge wheel gap opposed to oem non-sport???

I've run S4 and A4 struts and couldn't tell the difference. If there is one it isn't worth mentioning.
