    B6 S4 to B7 S4 front bumper conversion

Does anyone know if anyone makes a front end conversion for the B6 to B7? I basically want to have the front grill of the B7 on my B6 S4.

Yes, but it's very expensive and the final product doesn't look right. See the link below. Don't do it! Be proud of your B6...

    Re: B6 S4 to B7 S4 front bumper conversion

It's not that bad. The proportions aren't quite right, especially with respect to the headlights. But it's not hideous.

I think Audi does a very good job tying together their whole body styles. The B6 is what it is. It may look a bit "dated" compared to the newer platforms, but everything on the B6 "fits". If you get my drift...

The entire B7 front end can be bolted on, with OEM parts.

It'll look EXACTLY like a B7, not the LLTEK horror pictured in that write-up.

Thanks for the advise guys. I thought there was a kit you could buy like this. My wife just likes the B7 large mouth grill, I like the car the way it is.

The B6 has classic lines which include a nice arshe and a lovely face...
Many would agree that its structure is just dandy.
Perhaps a refresh on the grillage w/blackout look would improve the standard OEM look.

Why on earth would anyone spend serious money and effort to make a car look WORSE? I don't get it. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but really - why mess with the classic lines of the B6??

    Re: B6 S4 to B7 S4 front bumper conversion

I think the front of B6 is it's weakest point of design. Everything else is perfect.
I think the front transplant could be done better and it would not that bad. That (first post) black car looks bad because it's wheels have a nice mexi-poke and other crap that doesn't belong on an S4. If you can just visualize the bumper itself with matching paint, it's not that bad at all.

    it reminds me of:

if youre going to do a b6 to b7 conversion, youll have to buy all the oem parts. itll bolt right up providing you replace all the front body panels.

    Re: B6 S4 to B7 S4 front bumper conversion

Just to mention for a b6 to b7 conversion, you will also need the front pannel, thats the part that holds the radiator. The rest will bolt straight on. However the doors won't align perfectly to the B7 front wings. I would fit the front bumper and bonnet and lights. then modify the front of the b6 wings to fit the shape of the lights. Have seen it done on L A Modz

    Re: B6 S4 to B7 S4 front bumper conversion

It can be done, but if you are going to do it, do it right. Don't do the kit, as it just doesn't look right. It will cost more, but it will be worth it in the long run. Any B6 can be turned into a B7: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=219358

It just requires the right parts and some money. You would need a new front bumper, hood, front panel, headlights, and fenders. After that you would need the shop to shave the fenders so they line up, otherwise you will also have to buy new front door skins.

I don't see the big problem with it. It's not at all like you're putting lambo doors on a Civic, but more like putting a Mustang Cobra hood or spoiler on a GT. Big effing deal.

Would it make more sense to put the money into trading up to an actual B7?

I could sort of understand it if you scored a cheap B6 with cosmetic front end damage and had to replace the front but even then - it will devalue the car and possibly make it impossible to sell as clearly the majority of folks think this is an abomination unto God.

That does look good, but looks off...probably just cuz we are so used to seeing these cars as they were meant to be. I find it makes the nose too long looking. I always find that the case with the b7. I like the b7 head on look with the grill and lights way better, but from the side, the nose is just a bit too long.
