Ok so I really really hate this noise! I replaced my Fuel filter 3k ago and I think my pump might just be digging its grave... Listen to the video and tell me what you think it is...

Re: Fuel pump on the fritz or why do I sound like a 96 suberban?

I just replaced my fuel pump about a month or so ago. It completely died on me.

Mine you could really hear from inside the car. When the car sat say overnight, and I would put the key in and just turn on the electrical before turning the engine on you could hear pump under the rear seat making a glug, glug, gluging sound instead of the steady whir of the pump starting up.

When I drove it I could hear it moaning loudly and finally just stop and the car died.

Do you know where the fuel pump is located on the 3.0? I have a 1.8t quattro so it was under the rear passanger seat, I know the 1.8t FWD the pump located in the trunk under the mat which would make it harder to hear dying from inside the cabin I would think.

My Bentley manual is on my laptop which isn't with me so I'm not sure about the 3.0s.

The fuel pump was pretty simple to change. When I first asked about it everyone made a big deal but now that I did and knowing what specialty tool is required I could change it again in 30 minutes.
