HELP. Question regarding the NJ turnpike

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I need to go pick my car up in jersey sometime on thursday evening/afternoon. I need to break in the engine so I don't want to go if the traffic will prevent me from going through the RPMs. I'm picking my car up at Ridgefeild, NJ. Do you know if the turnpike is congested going towards the GW bridge? if so, is there a bypass towards the GW bridge??

please let me know, PM or reply welcomed. thank you all in advance

Re: HELP. Question regarding the NJ turnpike

Take the GSP or Palisades Parkway north up to the Tappen Zee. You will most likely encounter traffic on the GW anytime of the day except 3-4am. I avoid the GW like the plague. The Tappen Zee is my choice.

New engine? New piston rings? I wouldn't drive more than 30miles before the first oil change. I'd also just do accel/decels for the first 30miles to seat those rings. I did mine at 11pm on a Wed in the backroads next my house. Perhaps you can do that near Ridgefield and then immediately change the oil? Then you can drive the car home. Just a thought.
