    Re: 245/35/18 on 18x8.5 Wheels ET35

    I'd say it'll rub... I don't know about 245's on 5.8" wheels though! [:P]

I had a friend who tried to run 235/35 on 8.5" wheels, actually on 18x8.5 rs4 reps, and he rubbed on nuespeed race, you look lower than he was. He now runs 225/35 on the 8.5" wheels and only rubs sometimes.

    Re: 245/35/18 on 18x8.5 Wheels ET35

I run a 245/40-17 on 17x8 et35 which is very close. Same size tire but your tire will be about 6mm closer to the control arms and rear upright. A 5mm spacer should do the trick if it is needed at all. My bet is that it is only needed in the rear.

I've been planning on running 255/40-17 or 255/35-18 next year on a 8.5" wide wheel. I've measured and it shouldn't be a difficult fit at all.

you can use this size comparison thing to figure out the actual difference between what you run now.....If it helps at all.

Im running 225/40/18 with a 8.5 inch rim, and im getting rub in hard corners... youll most likely rub with those chunky tires slammed like you are.

I run 235's without rub.. I do not think 245's will fit, I have less than 1/8 everywhere.. (PS' I've autoxed with this with no rub)

    Re: 245/35/18 on 18x8.5 Wheels ET35

I'm not nearly as low, about a finger gap all around, and I rubbed with 235/40/18's that were on 18x8 et 32 wheels. I realize my wheels are about 3 mm further out than ideal (et 35) but nonetheless, I rubbed in the front when cornering hard and hitting bump. Now I run 225/40/18 and don't rub nearly as much (still a bit in front when cornering, but nowhere near as bad as before).

I really think with 245s you will either be rubbing the rear upright or fender. Stick with 235 or in my personal experience, 225s.

Well, you have a slightly smaller rolling diameter which will help, but I hit my front fenders cornering over bumps with a 235 but it's a good half inch bigger diameter too...
I'm pretty sure they will stick out past your fenders in the front though.

My buddy's running 8.5" RS4's and rubs fenders with people in the back. He's on stock sport suspension and a 10mm spacer. I have 245's in the rear as well and I've never rubbed but I'm not low at all

Im pretty much slammed tho... my stance is really similar to biketsai, which is why im guessing hel'l get alot of rub. When I take mine up a touch, there wont be any rub.

Keep in mind that every tire manufacturer makes their sizes of tires differently. I was reading an article, and different tire brands, of the exact same size, were almost an inch off

My 245/40-17 are barely 1/4" wider than my 225/50-16. The 225 are on wheels an inch narrower too.
