I have the Silver Stage 2+ with BBS Ch's. The Yellow Avant is RS6'd by VAST (Still breaking it in), and the Black A4 is a Supercharged 2.8.

    Now the problems:

    1. I've developed a rather loud squeak, from what seems to be around the bottom of the steering column. It only squeaks when I turn the steering wheel to the right and is loud enough to hear from 50 ft. away. Any ideas?

    2. I bought some Hawk HPS brake pads and they are driving me crazy. I understand it takes a while to wear in new brake pads, but I've had them on for close to 2,000 miles and it sounds like 20 semi-trucks all coming to a stop at once. Anybody else have these pads?

You can try lubricating the steering wheel bushing.. its where the steering column goes through the firewall.. you will have to remove the kick panel thing i believe... Mine was squeeky also.. i sprayed some silicon lube on it.. and now its noise free..

as for the hawk pads... they are track pads i believe and are known to make noise even after being broken in properly..

You've come a long way and doing a good job with the car. Are you still in high school?

Never ridden in a N/A 2.8 A4, but if feels pretty quick. I pulled a football field on him with the Stage 2+ though. I thought it was pretty torquey for a 2.8.

Did you get the rotors resurfaced??

When ever I do my breaks I always take the rotors down a little, Grinding the edges of the pad to an angle, and spray some no squeek crap on them.. Never have a problem.

LOL, i know you haven't posted pics but you have talked about progress. Just like the project you were doing, i think it was about downpipes or something.

Nope, I was tight on cash, and couldn't resurface the rotors. Now rotors are on the way.

Sucks you missed it Ryan. There were some incredible cars at the races.

And we need to plan it ahead and get all the local S4's around. Hopefully the Rs6'd yellow avant is back up and running in time. Pick a time that'll work for you, and I'll hit people up.
