Looking to do the rear brake pads ASAP for H20. How bad R Duralast Gold Semi-metals?

Only my rear brake pads need replaceing and I would much rather do it before driving to H20.

The local autoparts store has Duralast Semi-metallic pads with a lifetime for $30 in stock. For a daily driven, 2.8Q, is there anything wrong with these pads?

I know they arent super good pads but they meet OEM standards and come with a lifetime.

I did search and found all of the installation instructions I could ever need

    Thoughts?

    Thanks guys!

you'll be fine running them...they will be a soft pad that cuts fairly quickly...should easily last over a year....

    Those are fine.

However my concern is your rotors, In general you want to get new or turn your rotors the same time you get pads as you have wear groves that naturally occur from the differences in heat and rotation. Check to make sure you dont have noticeable groves before you proceed...

Thanks guys, so as long as I dont have deep grooves or pitting in the rotors I should be safe? I did call around and can get the rotors resurfaced for $23 each if needed.

Re: Looking to do the rear brake pads ASAP for H20. How bad R Duralast Gold Semi-meta

Just finsished, wasnt too hard. The job would have gone a lot weasier if I would have had the right piston compressor lol.

The wear pattern on the pads was even for each side except one side seemed to be worn down more which would indicate piston hang-up. However, I didnt notice any difference in compressing the piston during re-assembly. I guess Ill keep an eye on the pads.

    Thanks for the help guys!

For future searchers, Make sure to either buy the proper tool to compress the caliper piston or buy a 6" C-clamp. 4" was too short.
