problem with back right break light

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
i recently dropped my 1.8T A4 to get serviced
i asked them to replace the bulb in the right break light

my problem is they said they replaced the bulb
but the light is still out

and the light only works when i have my lights switched on

i was told this is due to a loose wire

    any suggestions on a diy?
or would i need to send the car back?

Re: problem with back right break light

My guess is that this is left side bulb out of the three on right fixture in which case this is actually not a brake light but the rear fog light. It only works on one side because that is how rear fog lights are wired. Turn on your headlights and pull the switch two clicks backwards. Check to see if the left side is on. Then go and push it in one click. Check again, my guess is that it will now be off.
