    horrible mileage?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Alright, so after finally fixing everything (except for the ABS), I run through my first tank of gas and get 17 MPG, probably 60% local and 40% freeway. Does anyone know if this is anywhere near normal? It's a K04 PC-16 setup and I hardly ever push it past 10 PSI.

    Some other details:

    - car has rebuilt head
    - first (full) tank of gas since it's been sitting for about 6 months
    - FPR set to 2.8 bar
    - idles perfect, pulls perfect
    - I get a bit of backfire every once in a long while (straight through exhaust)
    - has heavy 19" wheels, which i'm sure doesn't help

I remember getting about 22-23 mpg mixed with the exact same setup before the car hydrolocked and sat for half a year. Would clogged injectors cause bad mileage? Common sense dictates that if I'm spending more gas than I should, they can't be clogged...

Yes clogged injectors will cause bad gas mileage.

You could just be running a little rich though.

    Re: horrible mileage?

plugs and oil are new, air filter is a pretty beat up K&N... I'll try refreshing that first.

    Thanks!
