If you need to know of a reputable shop around here, there is one in Central Valley called CIM Motorsports (maybe 1 1/2 mile from Woodbury Commons). He did work on my car before and I recommend him. Unless you know how to . There is also a shop by 5 corners in Vails gate that works on porches and such, but that place seemed too upper class for my liking.

thanks guys...honestly i was at maybe 3500...and wasnt even beating i guess i beat it too much the prior weak...still dont know exactly why or how it happend but i will definitly chek out those build threads

How did you confirm that the issue is a dropped valve? Have you pulled the head? Also, was it an exhaust valve?

thats what my shop said...and wen we pulled the plugs mashed to bits...and looking into the block through the spark plug hole...u only see rod

Marlboro as in Marlboro MA? I have my shop down in West Warwick RI, I can tow it down there and get it installed in no time... I even have a spare 058 block I can get started with... Which cylinder went?

Well Id like to have a look at yours to see if an 83mm bore will cut it, if so we can just do an exchange... Let me know what you want to do, I can take my block to the machine shop tommorrow and start on it... If your getting pistons, a crank is only 200 more, so just 2008cc it instead... I can source the parts too, lemme know

I wish we could confirm it was the exhaust valve that came apart... I am pretty sure it was, but a confirmation would still provide meaningful information.

I went to the same High School as the dude who wrote it and the dude that put down over 500whp out of a stock block 4 cylinder vw

qed rebuild kit 350 (estimation)
wiesco 81 or 82 mm pistons 500
scat rods 400

this time im doing the head right:
stock aeb head
icconel exhaust valves 300
cat cams (what size you all tell me) 600
and at the end hopefully a tad bit faster more realiable car, even tho i think the only reason i droped a valve was because of the times i missed when shifting
