my car is messed up!!!

so about two week's ago i got the apr chip installed here in cincinnati, ohio. well everything was good for about a week other than me having to keep my foot off the gas but one night i was leaving work and my check engine light pops on! WTF??? so i take it to the dealer after a few days(really busy) and on the way to the dealer it starts making a werid noise like my dust sheild is hitting the rotor but it wasn't. so i drop it off at the dealer and they take a look at it and said my dv spacer is making the noise... (mine you all i've got done to the car is the dv spacer thats been on the car since 600 miles and the apr chip and my cars sitting at 20,xxx miles) so going back and forth with the service guy saying that the dv is the problem and me saying its not... they go back over the car again.

they call me about an hour later saying to come pick my car up. so i've been driving it today and i'm on my way home tonight and the check engine light is fucking blinking at me and my car starts mis-firing!!! so thank god i was less than a mile away so i just drove it home. so i'll keep all of ou informed on what the heck they come up with now.... wish me luck haha.

damn...I'm in the market for a chip right now, too! maybe I should get that O.CT tuning chip...

dont let one person deter you from getting APR, now, for the record i love my revo, but we dont know what happened and for all we know it could not be software related...dont want someone to jump the bandwagon to blame APR.

OP: take off the forge spacer, take it to the dealer and see what they say. Put your car on stock mode as well! Then your car will be basically stock and they will find a problem, hopefully.

I had problem w/ the DV spacer too. But once I took it out, everything is working again. Unless you absolutely love the PSHHHHHHHHHHH sound, I would recommand you to take out the spacer.

Damn, that's too bad... But I agree, try taking out the spacer. and if your check engine light is ever blinking, you should turn your car off right away no matter where you are. Let it sit for a few minutes and maybe think about what could've been wrong (low coolant or oil, just look around) then start it up again to see if the light is still on or blinking. Better cautious than spending $$$ at the dealer

If you are mis-firing or hesitating I would check loose vacuum tubes first. Check in the back of the engine, on top, near the firewall to see if that tube has come loose or off.

Which dealer are you taking it to here in cincy? The CEL came on when I blew my stock diverter valve after I chipped my 08. Mind you I chipped with about 3K on the car. But I havent had any real problems. I blew my DV within 3 days of the chip. Took it to Audi Connection, and my tech (who is very cool thanks to me being friends with my sales guy) replaced my DV under warranty but told me to go aftermarket as the boost will keep blowing the old DV's. Since then i havent had a problem.... What color is your car?

the misfiring sounds like a coilpack or possibly MAF..

well i did take it to the Audi Connection here in cincinnati. erin(guy) is a good friend of mine there and i try to get him to work on my car. he knows what i have done to it haha. but they called me today whie i was at work and told me it was a coil pack and thats what i was thinking it was last light. but at the time i wasnt thinking right just annoyed that my car was jacked up!!! so the number 2 coil pack wasnt firing and they told me that they replaced all four. but its all good i get it back tomorrow(wensday). all in all just annoying.... my cars been there twice in one week. tell me you wouldnt be annoyed!!! haha

i wouldne be quick to jump on the bandwagon either, but after my experiences, i honestly have no problem blaming them for the first thing thats wrong with my was (well past tense, all is solved now with revo)

Im curious, how did you get a front track A4 in ohio? My sales rep at the audi connection told me they dont ever order them in liek that because 99% of their customers get the audi because its nice and can go in the snow in the winter....Was that car bought out of state?

no i just went there and they had a front track. i got a hell of a deal on it too. sticker was like 29k but i got it for around 23k
