VF to install BIG Turbo on S3

I love my job.

I fly out from the OC to San Antonio Texas to pick up the exclusive S3 tomorrow.

I am expected to deliver the car to my CEO and Head of R&D first thing Thursday morning.

Red Bull don’t fail me now! The total distance I need to travel is 1342.80 miles.

This works out to be about 19 hours of driving in less then two days.

I will post pictures of my findings when I return. We have to dyno the little terror at GIAC Thursday morning.

Here is what the kit will look like:





RSS-20 kit includes:

- GT2871 Garrett Turbo Compatible with 6spd/DSG
- VF cast split cavity exhaust manifold
- Gaskets and high tensile studs and hardware
- Goodrich proprietary oil / water lines with heat shielding
- VF custom exhaust adapter plate with gaskets and studs
- VF short ram CAI with filter and MAF heat shield
- VF stainless support bracket with lateral support
- VF billet race bypass valve
- Autotech highflow fuel pump
- Hitachi highflow fuel injectors (6ms@11:1 afr)
- GIAC recalibrated ECU for pump/race/valet/kill modes
- GIAC speed limiter removed and raised 7300 rpm limiter (6spd)
- GIAC recalibrated MFA MPG counter

I got out of the plane at 6:15 in San Antonio to find this!



First impressions were good and the interior was nice. I forgot my IPOD and I was glad to see Sirius Radio.



AC/DC has their own radio station and what happened to be my first song of the trip could not be more perfect.

The car is a blast to drive. My first stop I got gas added stickers.






I had to stop after 3 hours and a Monster BFC to do the usual and I was amused by this sign.





After six hours of driving and not turning the wheel once. It was getting time for me to get some shut eye.



I was a few miles out of El Paso and made some good way when I woke.



I sped through New Mexico and Arizona.





Last Pit Stop before Dragon Road.



This is one of my favorite times of the day. I had a true feeling off accomplishment when entering San Diego.

I traveled 9 states in less then 48 hours in an Audi S3.



The car was delivered to GIAC this morning.

Install pictures and dynos to be added.

Can you explain the difference between this kit and current RS/S or R kit you already supply (like on JonnyC's car) I know the turbo is slightly different, but what will change in terms of driving characteristics?

Yes the VF RSS kit will bolt onto any exhaust just like a K04.

The only difference between our RSS-GTI versus RSS-S3 is the software !

Main features the kit includes:

1) Complete GT2871 ball bearing turbo - no BS custom trims. Just a straight up Honeywell Garrett Turbo. We are a Garrett Turbos approved engineering house and deal with them direct.

2) Cast high sil-moly ductile iron exhaust manifold with split cavity OEM throat design.

3) New OEM gaskets, and high tensile hardware, washers and nuts.

4) Goodridge custom oil line setup.

5) Autotech high pressure pump

6) Hitachi upgraded replacement man-size injectors (not modified and not S3 midgets). Our injectors are large enough to run both the intank and HPP pump dry before their duty cycle gets anywhere near its peak.

7) VF short ram cold air intake with MAF and Airfilter heat shields.

8) GIAC extensively remapped ECU reflash.

All this for $5500.

I saw this car in person on Friday when I dropped off my RS4 for a little twin screw action. Nik was running the car on the Dyno and this car really puts it down with the kit on it. I want one for my A3 when GIAC gets the software done for the new TFSI motor.
