    First Detail, need some advice

For starters, I got the Adams Claybar and Detailing spray in my cart at detailersdomain.com, as well as 10 microfiber cloths.

My hangup right now is, for a rookie, what is a simple to use and forgiving polish, as well as a good wax to fallow it up. I don't think I'm going to be spending lots of time on this, so I was thinking probably only about one pass with the polish.
I was thinking about the Adams Revive Polish and Buttery Wax? Whats a good pad for a light job like this? I've read a lot of stuff on the forum, but I'm starting to feel over my head so please no "search this and that," I already did.

Its a silver car, if that matters, and the paint is in pretty good condition. I might have to polish by hand also, not sure.

    silver is pretty forgiving.

My buddy used the Meguiars 3 stage deep crystal thing on his silver X5 and it turned out really well.

Here's what I do: 1 coat 1Z Metallic Polish/Wax, then 1 coat 1Z Glanz & you're done. All applied by hand, easy as pie and works great on my silver avant. The 1Z stuff has been great for a noob (like me) and the results have been well worth the elbow grease. In any event, whichever products you choose to use, enjoy!

    Rides:
    '06 S4 Avant, silver/black w/ alcantara, w/ V8 goodness - new DD (finally back in an S!)
    '07 A4 Avant 2.0TQ S-line & Ti, I-white/black (unicorn?) - w/ APR goodness, old DD, now beach-mobile
    '93 BMW 850ci, FE Red/Black - major garage queen

    Previous:
    '01.5 S4 Avant, Silver/Onyx (Sold...miss it a whole lot )
    '98 BMW 328ic, Cosmos/Grey/Black (Sold...miss this one a whole lot, too)

I would have to say go with

Einszett Metallic and Einszett Glanz and you will be good to go.

Let me know if I can help you out and remember the 10% off code.

Get a white pad and a black pad.

If you have the extra coin, try and get the PC kit from DD. It's a great kit for starters, and extremely user friendly. If you can't afford it, be prepared to feel like death after polishing! Like posted earlier, 1z metallic is a decent starter polish. Also look in to menzerna polishes such as 106fa(ff) or 85rd. They have very little cut (much like 1z metallic) and also offer great shine. Adams polishes are pretty much junk, so stay away from those all together. You can use any foam applicator pad if you're polishing by hand, also look at autogeek.net they have some of the ccs pads in hand applicator form so you can get a little more cut out of a hand applicator, but it won't do much more than the uber yellow foam applicator.

We don't want to feeling overwhelmed so any questions post up!
