It idles and revs (in neutral) fine but when I put a load on it, it starts to studddddder.

The MIL came on and stayed on.

    Thanks,

I always thought a bad CP caused problems during idle, too. That's why people play the CP game when trying to find which one to replace..

That’s what I thought.....I'm in Houston and gas was hard to come by right after Ike and I had to put in regular (87) (after waiting in line for an hour) because that’s all they had.

This just happened about 2 hours ago, so I put in 2 bottles of octane booster (glad I have a case in the garage) and filled up with 93.

By-the-way....I still don't have electricity 10 days later!!!!

Damn! Sorry to hear that dude.. as for the ride, i'd just drive her nice and easy on 87AKI

EDIT: just noticed you filled with 93. Hopefully it was just from the low grade gasoline and nothing due to the weather!

depends on what kind of studder, theres the very Obvious 'I'm running on 3 pistons studder' and the less than obvious 'i'm hitting misfire counters in VAG and it looks like probably piston # _____ has a coilpack that cant handle a higher KV range' studder , find out which piston is misfiring and replace coilpack FTW woo

Not true.....it was a little bit higher....but it was really hard to find a station that had power or a generator to pump the fuel and then some of those only took cash.

    I paid $3.93/gal

I have a generator and a windershaker (window mounted a/c) just for this purpose so we can at least sleep in a cool bed room.

You don’t realize just how much you depend on electricity until you don’t have it for 10 days. (It will be 10 days tonight at 11:00).

This week end we had to use a laundry mat……you know how long it has been since we’ve used a laundry mat? And it was full you had to wait for a washer and they had 30 washers and only 20 dryers….yes I counted them.

can I take it to Auto Zone and have them scan it.

What is the name of the scan tool that everyone here uses? I guess its time to get one.

just an obdII scanner, or take it to a german tuner and have it VAG scanned, most people cant keep up with the $1000 a freakin month just to use VAG so just get yourself a nice OBDII scanner

1000 a month? what? go to ross-tech's website and get yourself one. i paid roughly 250 on an older one (non-CAN) they're a worthwhile investment if you work on your own car. otherwise yeah, autozone can scan it with an OBDII scanner and give you codes (most of the time for free) and then you just need to look up the codes (VAG-COM gives you info on these codes)
