Heres my ideas on a magnaflow exhaust... Help?

Ok so ive been looking at magnaflow.

Ive heard many clips and this is what im thinking of doing. Go a custom 2.5'' from the flex pipe back, remove the res and install a 2.5''in/2.5''out Magnaflow universal muffler and then get some fancy 2 way tip welded on the end...

    Or

buy a 3'' magnaflow muffler, with a single tip out. Run a 3'' custom pipe form the Flex Pipe back, remove the res to the magnaflow muffler.

Yeah i know its more then enough for the ko3S but then again i wont need to upgrade to someting bigger.

    or

Buy a Magnaflow muffler @ 2.25 and run a 2.25'' custom pipe form the flexpipe to the back removing the res...

I thought id rather ask you all b4 i went out and bought one.

    Thx

First option, 3 in. is overkill for anything smaller than about a GT35. 2.25" wouldn't be bad unless you want to upgrade to a larger turbo anytime soon. I personally have exactly what you have for option one and the muffler is a 14816. The car sounds great and holds boost and alot better than stock.

Not true. My previous A4 definitely benefited from a 3" exhaust on a stock k03. Ive raced a k04 car on a hammer file and it did not pull away from me. Right now I just got a Magnaflow 12198 with a 3" inlet for my new 01 1.8t. I'll post results once I install it.

i think that it will be too loud, unless you really like that sort of deal.. at one point i did, but it got annoying after a while. It is nice to be able to cruise on the hwy without a drone in the background.

This was on my old car using a Gutted S4 muffler. It got a bit quieter after that video as I didn't have a flex pipe at the time of the video. But you get the idea. It was quiet out of boost. I imagine that with a magnaflow which has more flow will be a tad louder.

Nothin is loud compared to my dsm setup. Catless, 3'' testpipe... Exhaust went straight back upswept with a 3'' apexi n1 muffler... That thing was hella loud. I miss it tho it had such an agressive sound.

    MilitantGrunt that sounds good man

I just ordered a 3'' exhaust, sorry but id rather have my exhaust done right the first time then having to redo it next year.
