    Question about ATP GTRS

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi, now before anything. I have searched and Read The Noob Performance Sticky before asking the question. Even reading and searching everything there are still some questions a Person have to ask before Doing Something He Doesnt Know anything About.
I am totally New towards Turbos. I ran n/a Acura TLS with bolton mods.
I read about ATP GTRS turbo. When i was looking for it online, i didnt see the whole kit. Only the turbo and 2 hoses. Does that mean that we ONLY have to replace the stock turbo with this and just run a Reflash? Or is there a catch? I was thinking to trade in the car to get something faster but if i can take this to 350AWHP, i dont need another car.
    Help me out guys Thanx

    Re: Question about ATP GTRS

GTRS is not going to get you 350awhp, not anywhere close, even on race gas. To even get near or over 300awhp, you will need all supporting mods (manifold, testpipe, TIP, full exhaust, FMIC, clutch, software, injectors, DV, ...) AND race gas

    Re: Question about ATP GTRS

To get 350awhp, your going to need a 3076R and at minimum a built bottom end

^ LOL! That MIGHT do it..

But seriously, I have the GT71r (same turbo, just a larger compressor wheel) and I bought this kit CLICK ME!
Correct me if I'm wrong but I am probably in the 275AWHP range with this and I love it!

PM me when you do... ive been wanting a 3+ kit but just cant justify $5k on a 5 year old car... im kinda leaning towards the gtrs or gt71r kit

i wonder if a turbo blanket and test pipe wrap or ceramic coat would help the reduce spool time on the 71r?

    None ... and a GTRS will get 20-21psi around 37-3800, 71R around 41-4200

I haven't gone WOT yet for a full pull because I'm still breaking in the clutch but by tonight I should have 500 miles on it. Do you think that's enough?

    Re: Question about ATP GTRS

oh man please please don't get a caddy or a jag! absolutegtr was serious above that a jag is a fast ford taurus in disguise.

an evo is cool but unless you purchase a new one they're ugly as sh*t. anyway, even getting around 300AWHP in a quattro car is pretty f*cking badass. it'll be easy to do in any FWD car, and overall do you really need it to be that fast right away? put $4K into the car and wait another year then build the engine and get the rest of your power. whatever you do, keep the audi it's 10x more of a car than any of your other choices.

dude, this doesnt make any sense. what year models are you looking at because those are all $35k+ cars! your audi is half the price of those!

hmm $4k supporting mods will eat up that. $6-7k could do it if you are a DIYer. and your car would stop better, handle better and be faster than those cars listed PLUS you could say im not a rich beyotch dbag in a cts or jag.

shawn, would you do the 440s like with the ecode kit or the 550s and piece together your own kit?

    Re: Question about ATP GTRS

Sorry to thread jack, but this may help, I am just finishing up an install of the GTRS kit on my 2004 ^sp Q. the supporting mods are:

    -GTRS turbo
    -ATP manafold
    -TIP neuspeed extreme
    -550 injectors
    -FMIC
    -007 forge DV
    -REVO flash
    -test pipe

    Shawn,

I know I will need to do the clutch but the car has about 18000miles so I want to ride this one out as long as I can. Aside from the clutch possibly failing from the power, what other mods should I think of doing to keep reliability to a maximum. How much power and boos can I run without worrying about punching a hole in the block (running stock internals)

What WHP have you seen with similar setups?

You shouldnt have any problems with a stock motor with a GTRS totally maxed out
