well i decided that i needed to change the color of the car.. i bought this car nogaro blue. i just got annoyed when people keep asking is that a s4 is that a s4.. so i wanted to be a little original and go with a non audi color. i shaved the side moldings off, and shaved the front bumper luvers and euro plate. i also wanted to go with a flat finish. after seeing Rob (a4rob) car i really was impressed. its still a work in progress. i need to do a couple of odds and ends. heres some pics of the transition. lmk what ya thing. suggestions are welcome. thanks guys.

haha i know nogaro blue is a beautiful color is just not an s4 ya know. well i painted the car my self and did all the work so the cost was pretty minimal. well here goes some pics for you guys. i will be taking better pics soon. they are off an i phone so there not that great.here it is

its sooo hard to lay down a flat color, it just always looks discolored, take the door handle area for example....

doors must have been painted on the car. If they were laid flat and painted you can lay down a wetter coat.

Is that an S4?



Silver is a VERY VERY hard color to lay. It is probably a good choice you did it flat as getting the color even throughout is very hard on clear.

You did a good job all things considered!

I just saw this today but had I seen it before you painted the car I would have strongly suggested that you shave the lower molding as well as it looks way better shaved.

The color looks good and I like how the car cleaned up really well with everything shaved and filled. Good job ........ ...... but if the car ever goes in for any kind of paint work, shave the lower moldings.

yea i wanted it flat.. and yes that is a rx7 in the back lol.. like i said before its no completely done im thinking about bringing it back up to the shop and fixing a couple of things. yeah around that door handle got a little funky but hey what are you gonna do. fred i was a little iffy on shaving the bottoms. i deff thought about it but like you said if i want i can always shave them. when i bring it back up to the shop to work on it ill deff consider it. not only laying down a flat color is hard but gray none the less. im pleased with the out come. just needs little things here in there. im going to try to get better pics up tonight considering the camera phone does no justice. but thanks for all the comments

so wait...what was the original color?

what color are your engine bay and door sills? i like the new color but it looked better in blue.

also, if youre fed up with people not knowing its an a4, you should probably get that black rear valence, a4 sides, and stock front bumper back on there...that would have seemed a little less drastic than a color change. not to mention that color with black lowers would have been boner-ific

the door jams are the same color as the car as well as the trunk and under the hood. the stock bumper and sides look like crap. why would i do that. i was going to paint the car anyway but i guess everyone is entitled to there own opinion. im not really into the whole two tones thing. had a friend take some pics tonight. will post later. thanks everyone
