    Citylight Issue....

Have there been any ill effects of doing this? Has the light melted any wires or anything while it's been sitting back there? I ask b/c I recently purchased the LED Citylights from ECS. While my girlfriend was putting the LED back in the housing, and being very gentle may I add, the LED came out of its socket and fell into the headlight. And it fell into the corner and dropped out of sight. So...unless I crack the headlight open, it's not coming out.

One would think the light would be affixed to its socket in a manor that would prevent this from happening. A 50$ purchase has just become a $200 problem if I want to get it out. So once again....to those of you that pulled the citylight out and just left it hanging behind the housing...any ill effects?

I know you aren't the first one to have this happen too. If you can get your headlight out and start shaking so that it comes out from where ever it is and then stick a straw in there with some tape you should be able to get it out. then just tape that sucker into the socket and you should be good to go.

Yeah...I know i Could do that...I just don't want to take the bumper off. I could take out the DRL and stick a vacuum or something in there...but I'm not sure that would work. I'm ready to just say...screw it.

well you have CC so you could shoot some air in that hole and have the vacuum in the DRL hole and maybe that will do it. no harm in trying it if you want it out.

Yeah..I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they'll do. I think its rediculous how easy the LED's pop off. Hey..at least its out of sight! I'm going to put that on myself..or a drop of superglue on the bottom of the light. That will hold it in there pretty good.

    Re: Citylight Issue....

yeah i would put something on the end of it to make sure it stays in place. last thing you want is to go over a bump and have it pop out on you again.
