    Oil change = PIA

It was my first oil change that I did on my car. I am so used to changing my oil on my VW in about 20 minutes. I used the Scwaben specialty tool but whomever did the last oil change stripped the threads on the oil filter canister. Eventually after about a half hour of trying to get it on I was able to drain the oil from the canister. The tool works like a charm. When I had the canister out I was able to rethread it so next time I should have no problems. Oh yeah and the covers under our engines nowadays suck. I know next time won't be as bad because I got one under my belt but I was not expecting a oil change to be so time consuming. All in all it took me about two hours from start to finish including cleanup. I had to take a couple smoke breaks because I was getting frustrated. My next change is covered under warranty at 25,000 miles so I won't have to do this for another 10000 miles.

Specialty tool? You mean that thing that attaches to the end of the oil cartridge container and sucks it out?

Changing the oil was fun on my car. Trying to untorque the cartridge holder that had been put on there with an air wrench, by using a 36mm socket with a long-ass extension: that was a blast. I busted my knuckles multiple times when the socket slipped off.
