za cheapest brake pads, where are they?

ok, my brakes got about 10% left, theres about a milimeter of brake pad before the sensor self destructs and turns on the light. and i need new pads.
where is the absolute cheapest place to find brake pads for my S4? I'm thinking Ebay, but I was wondering what people have found online.

what i'd really like to do is swap to A6 ATE calipers because these Girling calipers suck ass.

Let me get this straight. You want to go cheap, but at the same time you want better? Something doesn't add up here.

And I don't see how you can think that the Girling calipers "suck ass" They're a hell of a lot better than most factory stuff that's out there. Are you tracking your car weekly? I just don't see why you would think they suck ass.

My local Autozone had a set of Duralast (their store brand) S4 front brakes in stock WITH sensors, and with a lifetime warranty for $34.99--they seem to work fine, and I am a very aggressive driver. I don't know how available these are, but if you are looking for cheap...

If i had the money i would swap to the Ate calipers, but i don't right now so i just want something cheap.
ATE calipers are standard equipment on the X308 Jaguar XJR, E39 BMW M5, both vehichles weigh more and are faster than a S4. the ATE calipers will be more than upto the job of stopping a S4.

    the girlings suck because:
-you can't service them unless you disassemble them which requires removal of the bleeder nipple and making a mess
    -lack pedal feel
-pads are expensive because nobody uses them except for audi
takes up more space and adds more weight (overall, not just because of the pads) because they use 4 pads per side instead of two.
-if i need to replace one caliper its going to cost $400 for a re manufactured one.
-non reusable/transferable brake pad wear sensor
    -uneven pad wear.

Suck ass, no. Ridiculously over rated and expensive, yes. I wasn't arguing with you, I just wanted to know your logic. GL with the find.

thanks, hopefully i'll find a website that isn't filled with really flaky info so i can determind exactly what year and model A6 calipers to use, and then see about the brake hoses.

    Call up a dealer?

When I have really weird, one off questions I call a dealer NOT local to me. So that when I do go in there the guy doesn't say "oh, you're the one that was asking me 20 questions from hell"

Let us know when/where you find cheap pads. I'm in the market for some rears for cheap just to hold me over till I upgrade as well.

Umm..34.99, and a lifetime warranty on a wearable item? Does that mean that when they are nearing the end of their life you can go back and have them replaced for free?

Yes. As long as the backing plate is not damaged, they will replace it for free.

Here's a 25% off coupon on Duralast Gold brake parts valid until 9/24.
