    Goodbye Caractere, Hello Sportec...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So the Caractere front has been retired... and in comes Sportec. I love this front. In addition, an OEM blackout A4 grille replaced the old mesh grille as it is a perfect match with the lowers on the Sportec. Still a work in progress as I'm not sure what to do with this front grille. Maybe paint the trim and rings, or just the trim, or just the rings I'm still without a camera body as I'm waiting for the 50D to be released, so here's a spypic I found from the show at Ira Audi....

BTW I am selling the Caractere HERE

Yea they have really become super rare, couldn't pass this up, especially with it already painted dolphin grey.

Car still looks great but I think I like the flow it had with the Caractere better.
IMO Caractere looks better in dolphin grey and Sportec in black.

    I went the opposite direction...

From Sportec + OEM blacked out grille:

To Caractere + OEM S4 blacked out grille:

As much as I loved the Sportec, I decided to change due to the beating the fiberglass and much lower bumper was taking from my 25k/year drive.

Too bad the Caractere has fresh paint otherwise I'd possibly consider but my rock-chipped-to-hell S4 bumper will suffice for now.

Well I do agree that the caractere looks better on your car then the sportec did. However, I would attribute that to the fact that you have no sides, and the Sportec front is too low for a car with no sides.

Another reason I went with the sportec is that the front mount is more hidden. It looked a little too aggressive for me with the entire front mount and pipes on both sides showing.

Yep, I like how the the Sportec bottom is flat, and I didn't want to put a splitter on the caractere that was not made for it.

Good Doug! Maybe we can still meet up at Mountain Creek sometime next year if your going to get into down hilling.

Just one of those small word things, I've been working at the local bike shop again this summer, with Craig a lot. Thought you might get a kick out of that.

Yeah, true what you said about the sides, I had the Sportec sides sitting in my garage for almost 6 six months and ended up selling them for dirt cheap.

I like your car with the Sportec. I would give it a 99% but you had hands down the best looking Caractere equiped B6 100%!
