B6 NAV Volume - How do you adjust it?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
my friend has a B6 S4. It has the navigation system (old one with the little knob down by the armrest and the turnbyturn only in the computer display between speedo-tacho)

everytime the sat nav lady barks out a direction, it's at ear splitting volume. Is there any way to turn her down? He doesn't have steering wheel mounted radio controls, and has the Symphony sound system.

    Thanks

I have no idea what you are talking about.... Knob down by the arm rest?

So he doesnt have an RNS-E? If he does indeed have one then just turn the normal volume button up or down when there is talking and it will control the volume or you can use the menu to go in and turn the nav volume up or down.

To change it you want to hold the menu button on the stereo down until the overall stereo menu comes up and then click menu to go through the options until you get to NAV/ Volume or something like that. Then you can change it.

No need to scroll thru the menu, when the directions come on and it is too loud, just turn down the volume with the radio volume knob, it will stay on the last volume you leave it at.

that sounds like the method for the B7 Nav, not B6. He tried that. Didn't work.

maybe that's because you don't have a B6 with NAV...you have B7. The title of the thread is 'B6 NAV Volume - How do you adjust it?'

B7 (like your car, and my car) has the RNS-e MMI system. B6 on the other hand had a horrible system with directions and input only on that little tiny computer screen between speedo and tacho.

i know how to do it..i have the same crappy nav in my b6....all you do is go to settings, then it should say volume...this is on the actual nav between the speed. and tach....just go to settings, and volume should be there..and you can turn her down..haha
