The second run was pretty good.

I didn't know that launching a car could really make that big of a difference...

13.9 is fast. I wonder how fast you'd be on 100 octane.

    Re: The Results are!!!!

Not bad for your first time. Well, you broke into the 13's which is what you wanted to do.

Do you still have your 17" stockers? If they are lighter than your current set-up may wanna consider a run with them.

Its alot tougher when you are actually there on the line at the light, isn't it? 10x tougher with a manual esp if you are a 1/4 mile noob.

Did you weigh the car or are you guessing?? Because the way your car is set up from your sig. suggests that the car alone should weigh in the 3650-3700 lbs range.
I'm assuming you didn't gut it from your first post??
Just wondering cuz our cars' curb weight is 3660 lbs and 300lbs is worth a couple tenths of a second or more.

2nd run was nice. Now go back to the track and get that 60' down and I think you can get another tenth or two.

I believe 3,450lbs is for the FWD model. At least that what Edmunds has the FWD listed as.

mmm....interesing. I wonder if the scale you were using was off.

I've weighed my car with the spare but without me in it and it came in at 3700lbs at a public scale the first time. The second time I weighed it was at the race set-up shop when I had the car corner-weighted. It came in at 3850lbs without the spare and with 180lbs worth of my weight in the driver's seat.

We both have the same base model cars with the exception of different modded parts. In theory I would think they would be within 50lbs of each other??

Anyone know how to remove the rear seat bottoms?

Or the rear seat backs if you have heated seats?

I removed the backs of mine when I took off my rear bumper, but the wires for the heating elements were still restraining them and I didn't see a harness to unplug...

    I dont believe it.
Your real time was on the left.
Ill race you October 19th for show and go.
Thats if you are up for showing your real times.
You have an Auto and there is not such thing as reving it up
and dumping the clutch, so your 60' is going to be the same basically all the time.
Dont really care how you defend yourself, but you cant bullshit a bullshit artist.

    Re: The Results are!!!!

He's probably pointing out the large discrepency in trap speeds.

The OP trapped abut 93mph on two of his runs, then 101mph on his best run (that ticket just happens to have a 93mph trap speed time in the lane next to him).

Trap speed is a good indicator of the power your making and even if you completely flub a launch, you should be somewhat consistent with trap speed. Going from 93mph to 101mph in trap speed would require an increase of 100hp or more. It's odd is all. It's also odd because he got an even better launch on one of his 14.xx second times with a 93mph trap speed yet with a worse launch gained 8mph in trap speed and dropped his 1/4 mile time.

    1ST Run:
    R/T .538
    60' 2.030 <---------- BEST LAUNCH
    330' 6.025
    1/8 9.348
    MPH 73.84
    1000 12.209
    1/4 14.612
MPH 93.32 <-------TRAP SPEED - INDICATOR OF POWER

2ND Run (right lane car from timeslip):
    R/T .133
    60' 2.160 <-------------- MEDIUM LAUNCH
    330' 5.971
    1/8 9.071
    MPH 79.84
    1000 11.694
    1/4 13.893
MPH 101.33 <--------TRAP SPEED - INDICATOR OF POWER

    3RD Run:
    R/T 1.493
    60' 2.475 <---------WORST LAUNCH
    330' 6.492
    1/8 9.850
    MPH 73.62
    1000 12.712
    1/4 15.109
MPH 92.51 <--------TRAP SPEED - INDICATOR OF POWER

As you can see above, even with the best launch versus the worst lanuch the trap speed changed less than 1mph. The 1/4 mile time is what changed and it changed by a half second...significant and what you'd expect from launching better or poorer.

But the center run (the best run) shows an altogether MUCH faster car. It launches poorer then the first run yet still is bundles faster in trap speed at the 1/8 mile mark and at the 1/4 mile mark.

It could be that for some reason he hit the brakes at the end of the tracks lights on the 93mph runs.

Now, if you substite in the left lane car from his winning ticket the three runs would look like this...

    1ST Run:
    R/T .538
    60' 2.030 <---------- MEDIUM LAUNCH
    330' 6.025
    1/8 9.348
    MPH 73.84
    1000 12.209
    1/4 14.612
MPH 93.32 <-------TRAP SPEED - INDICATOR OF POWER

2ND Run (left lane car from timeslip):
    R/T .773
    60' 1.919<-------------- BEST LAUNCH
    330' 5.841
    1/8 9.173
    MPH 73.71
    1000 12.935
    1/4 14.429
MPH 93.02 <--------TRAP SPEED - INDICATOR OF POWER

    3RD Run:
    R/T 1.493
    60' 2.475 <---------WORST LAUNCH
    330' 6.492
    1/8 9.850
    MPH 73.62
    1000 12.712
    1/4 15.109
MPH 92.51 <--------TRAP SPEED - INDICATOR OF POWER

THe above runs now make sense. He gets the best 1/4 mile time on the run with the best launch. The trap speeds which are indicators or power all stay within 1mph of each other.

Not saying that is what happened, but it simply appears that way from the objective numbers.

It would help just to post the two other time slip photos. I think that would remove any doubt. It's not as though it's out of the realm that a fuel pumped car could go that good time.

    cheers! Mike

I can see maybe you lifted right at the end of the track on the other ones. Do you have a photo of the other slips?

You have an Auto and there is not such thing as reving it up
and dumping the clutch, so your 60' is going to be the same basically all the time.

You really dont know much at all do you???????????? With the Tip we can rev up to 3500 RPM's and unlike a standard we build boost the longer it stays there. The 60'ft is not always the same I have run from 2.1's to 1.83's. Before you flame somebody get your facts straight. Oh maybe its you suck at driving and cant believe somebody can get into the 13's.
