Pre-facelift to facelift steering wheel adapter

I found this little thing over on eBay and according to the ad this adapter will let you fit, say, a 2000 S4 steering wheel in a 96 A4. Or a B7 RS4 wheel in a B5 A4 :P

Sent a mail to the seller and he confirmed it.

    Link to eBay auction:

Also says that it's an original Audi adapter, which isn't true, but whatever.

Have any of you guys ever seen or heard about anything like this? If it's real it would be a great way to upgrade a pre-facelift car.

Re: Pre-facelift to facelift steering wheel adapter

    Problem is that Audi changed the steering column in 97, so a 97-98 S4 steering wheel won't fit a 95-96 A4 =/

At least that's how it is in Europe, might be different on the US spec models

    Bump

Anyone know how I can get the facelift wire thingy that's underneath the steering wheel to fit on a pre-facelift car? Or pre-facelift unit on facelift wheel?

It's the circular thing that the wires are held in so that the wheel can rotate, don't know the English name for it..

The adapter will work, but the wireholder and airbag plug won't fit (the plug is easy though, just solder on one that fits :))
