Yea, it is certainly not plug and play. This device functions by interupting the power to the coil packs. The only way to do that is to get in there and cut the wiring and wire this in, so it can cut them off. That said, it is all simple stuff, that can be done by anybody with patience and basic soldiering skills. It can also be removed later and hid well enough that only the most trained eye would be able to spot it.

I have heard that there is problems with the 2 step/wot box for APR cars. Is that true or has the issue been fixed?

I have seen that as well. There was one guy that I have seen so far with an APR file on a 1.8t who was having issues with the 2 step functionality, but not the WOT shift. He talked to APR and allegedly they do not modify the sensitivity to misfires in any way- which makes this somewhat of a mystery, as the box works fine on stock ecu cars? There were other APR users stating theirs works fine, so it may be some particular circumstance which is giving him the problem.

Unless you feel adventurous, right now I'd probably recommend APR users hold back. I'd love to tell you to go for it but I don't want people tearing into their harnesses and then not being satisfied.
