How do I control my ipod touch with icelink?

Has anyone hooked up their icelink and been able to control the ipod directly through the ipod not the head-unit?

With my classic I knew how to enter the preferences and set this, but with the touch it doesn't work the same.

Search has failed me, hoping someone here can help. Thanks.

your best bet is to use a classic or older ipod to enter ipod uder mode, then connect your touch, or change out to a newer unit from enfig.com

i have a densio icelink connected to my car... i can control anything... ipod video (new and old), ipod classics, itouch, and my iphone. the controls are not extensive... just basic volume, forward/reverse, skip controls.

i can pretty much control anything that makes use of the ipod mount. every now and then it would stop working and i would have to plug in my 5th gen ipod video and activate the gui interface in the icelink... bam! i can plug in anything again.
