what year tails can fit a 1997?

Ok well i have a 97 a4 and was wondering what year tails from the the facelift b5 models will fit.. Because I want to upgrade my headlights and taillights for a nicer look. Iv heard that some years dont fit..

any b5 will fit as long as you stay with the same body style lens, ie: avant -> avant, sedan-> sedan

yes. we just swapped s4's into my friends 96.

O BTW, what kinda of suspension does your friend got there on his 96? I have been looking around for suspension at the right price for some time now..

The upper portion of the lense is orange. Just taped off the rest of the lense and gave it a coat of nightshade and then 2 coats of clear. Saved $120.

IMO its the reverse lights that make those tail lights look so much cleaner. lol but yes the amber looks nice to get rid of.

Any tails from a B5 will fit, But you will probably have to do some re-wiring. Still a very simple upgrade though.

no rewiring. shouldnt take more than five minutes

remove the the black plastic tabs on the back of the carpet paneling in the trunk to gain access to the back of the light. there are going to be four x 10mm (?) nuts, remove the electrical harness from the light and you pull the light out

in the time it took for to ask and get an answer you could've had them out, poke around for yourself next time (both in the search function as well as your trunk)
