    so i was wondering...

right now i'm sitting in my lab class... (i don't know why that is important at all), but i started thinking of ecu stuff. lately i have really been wanting to look into the haltec interceptor. which is a piggy-back ecu system that lets you control boost, fuel, and timing. it runs around $800ish. about 2 months ago i talked to a guy on audiworld that succesfully put that system on his 97 aeb. i asked him for the schematic for reference to see what i would need to do to put it on my car. but then again i'm not sure if the ecu wiring is anywhere near the same for aeb to the awm. so really what i'm getting down to is, should i take the path less travled and go haltec, go the flow and just do giac, or do you guys know of a better piggyback or stand alone system that is should look into.

this is just kinda a boredom question on an idea i've been flirting with, but any personal imput is more than welcome. negative or possitve. just tell me what you think. thank you.

agression that will rip my nuts to my chin... haha! no i'm looking into running a gt2876 or maybe 3071r... i want to run around 20-25psi, and have around 350 400 wheel. then it's just hoping that the tranny will hold that. i think that should settle my boost crave for some while, or not...

I talked to Haltech, they said it works on the GTI and would work on the A4, but Ive heard conflicting things about how itll make the ECU flip out on you, things wont work, etc etc

    who knows if its true

It works fine on my AEB. In order to to make things easier you could send off your ECU for a couple tweaks and get rid of maf cut and while your at it raise the rev limit.

But currently I am running it with a stock 557p and got around the maf cut with controlling the fuel pressure manually and a bit of scaling changes to the maf signal. I have a couple maps, one for 110 leaded and 1 for 93 that could give a good base tune to start from. It took a ton of pulls to get it right, like 76 IIRC but again no one had done it before as far as i know.

    Re: so i was wondering...

I'd go with a known successful tuning company. Skip the Piggy back, it's not needed for either one of those turbos, or your desired power level. GIAC doesn't make a file (without a custom tune) that will make that power. Their file is for a 28RS or 2871, no 30xx framed turbos.

350-400whp can be done on the stock ECU, no need to go piggyback. Unitronic, Eurodyne, C-Tapp, etc can utilize the stock ECU. I'm sure there's a couple companies I'm forgetting.
