Just picked up my first Audi last night.. a 2003 A4 1.8T quattro tiptronic. Pretty happy with it so far! It replaced a 2000 Ford Focus ZX3 as my daily driver. Thanks for the tips and warnings everyone, it helped me find the right car, and I'm enjoying it! Put about 110 miles on it last night driving around to pick up my brother so he could take the Focus, then heading to the gym, and out to eat.. fun to drive, great around the corners.

Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics. I'll have some better pics eventually, but have a busy couple weeks ahead.

    Re: My first Audi..

Congratulations. I have the same car with the same specs but in moro blue instead. I must admit though, the red was the best color they put out on the B6. Have fun with her. Don't listen to these guys bashing our tips. They are still fun to drive, there are plenty of modding options, and if we wanted a stick anyway we would have got a proper sports car, not a luxury sports sedan.

Get a podi boost gauge for your first mod.

    Cheers.

    Re: My first Audi..

Thanks guys! I test drove a 5 speed and liked it, but this is my winter/daily driver car, not looking for anything crazy out of it. That's what the GTO is for (last dyno was 541 whp/531 wtq.. but i'll be selling it and going C6 soon). The A4 is a huge step up from the Focus, and seems to stay flatter around turns than the GTO, and is pretty fun to drive for not having a ton of power [yet].

Well, it's more what "did" I have done to the goat. It's nearly back to stock now, but it had a Procharger (D1SC), kook's headers, magnaflow catback, meth injection, fuel system, brakes, aeroforce gauges, built trans.. other odds and ends I'm forgetting I'm sure. Most of that stuff is sold in preparation to sell the car and pick up a C6.

Yep.. to each their own, man! Good luck finding another for the girlfriend; it's a great time to buy cars with the economy right now.

Actually, that's what I was planning on initially, but for the mods that I intend to do with the car, the only parts that would be left different if I went with a Z06 would be the fixed roof, the slightly lighter chassis, and not having to do the rear quarter panels (I don't care for the fronts anyway). The LS7 would be sold, the brakes/suspension will be redone, and I like the removable roof on teh coupe anyway! Used '06-'07 Z06s are commonly going for around 47-55k right now, some less, and used coupes are going for mid 30s, so saving 15-20k on a coupe up front, when I'm going to be modding the living hell out of it.. just makes more sense. It won't be a "Z06", but I wouldn't want someone in a Z06 to consider their car equal to what I will create anyway, so I don't care about the name :)

Thanks man! It is very clean except some curb rash on the wheels (3 of them! previous owner must've really sucked at driving near curbs) and one very small dent in the driver side wheel lip. Really happy with it!

Our cars are cheap to keep running so make sure you have enough to repair small things like window regulators, radiators, timing belt, new engine (sludge), new rear end, tires, ecu wire harness, interior buttons.....wait, why did I buy an audi?

Thanks! I loves it too, and so does the lady.

And hahahahaha @ "too bad its TIP".. you folks are obsessed.

You don't like the 1.8T?? Granted they're weak stock, but it appears to be a lot cheaper and easier to make 'em scream than that 3.0!

dont worry about curb rash, sooner or later you'll get some aftermarket wheels and you'll keep these for winter use. and if you still dont like it, buy silver sharpy and fix it good investment

Think you meant "aren't* cheap to keep running". And yeah.. I have some good mechanic friends and manage to do a lot of work myself, so at least it's just the parts, the labor isn't bad.

My thoughts exactly! Blizzak's be goin on these wheels in a few months, current tires be sold, and some nice 18" wheels will be going on next summer. Never thought about the silver sharpy though.. haha.
