    hid ballast location?

    Just got my vvme hid kit in the mail the other day. just thinking where to mount the ballast. any ideas?

    pretty much......where did you put yours, satisfied?

    Could you not just mount them under the headlight housing (where the OEM Xenon ballast would go)? I think you may have to trim a little to make it fit, but not much (make sure you trim the side closest to the back of the headlight, as if you trim too much on the other side you can puncutre a hole into the actual housing). I myself mounted mine next to the power sterring fluid resevoir (for the driver's side) and right underneath the designated slot for passenger's side. Both are held there by double sided sticky tape (it is really strong, so I really have no worries of them coming loose). Here are some pics:

    i made little squares of this plasticy/lineolium stuff i had around the house, painted them black, drilled holes, and zip tied the ballasts to them. it's a very tight fit though.
