On this car I just bought and I have no history of.....

I am getting P0302 I looked at the plugs and wires and they seem fine. Although one wire did look kind of funny. I was getting sparks from them. I swapped The cylinder 2 plug to cylinder 6 and I am getting the same code P0302. The coil packs seem fine because I get spark from those also. After doing some reading it could also be the ignition control unit?

I still think it maybe spark plug related because I hear a loud pop sometimes when I am driving, sounding like a bad plug/wire. But I would have thought since I changed the cylinder 2 wire to cylinder 6 that will eliminate the problem. But its still at P0302, Cylinder 2.

What do you guys suggest I do to test further? Is there a way to test the Ignition Control Unit?

I also have a VAG-COM. Is there anything i can do to get a deeper analysis of it other than run a code scan?
