What should be mated with the K04's to make them work correctly?

Well after doing or tried do alot of research before I asked questions, more and more questions come up after I found kinda what I was looking for and also after helpful members on this site.

    So the basic question is:

What is needed to make the K04's run properly and produce realiable hp?

This is what my friend has so far:

Upraged ECU (Unknown type at this time, bought car from friend)
Tip tranny ( What is a safe hp level for the Tip)
K04 Kit for $2000 ( I believe that is the price)
    2 Headgaskets
    16 headbolts

What he as ordered so far:

    CX SMIC kit
Passport 9500ci (to use when completed) < I got him a nice discount

Since the engine is going to be out anyways shouldnt he just P&P the heads and manifold?

    What about injectors?

DP's look very viable but which to get yet is unknown just yet.

    Are you serious?

Do you have an upgraded ECU already? because your going to need NEW software, and injectors, and MAF setup

Then, the turbos are $2000 but the inlets are another $500... So factor $2500 for the turbos and inlets

Then you might want new oil lines for the turbos. While the engine is out do downpipes also

WTF are u touching the heads for?

    ok here are some thoughts:

    your going to need:
injectors - widely used Siemens 60lb
    new MAF - Hitachi
    KO4 inlets?
    tuning

if you have a good place to P&P and he can afford more down time, then its a good time to do so.

if your thinking about dps, piggies will be very easy to do since your pulling the engine. or if he has the $$ get something after market, but do something since the engine is out.

Tip stuff, u have to wait till somebody comes on, or i know S4orce is very knowledgeable about tips.

you have a good start but absolutely need injectors and a maf.

and btw have fun wit ur cx stuff

Please go easy on me, Im just trying to help out my buddy that has the funds to do this stuff to his dream car he bought a month ago. His so-called friend sold him the car and the turbo's died 1 week later. I did convince him not to get BOV's but to upgrade to DV's (learned from this site).

    This is for a 00' B5 S4 w/Tip. and not for my A4 S-Line.

So lets say for shits and giggles he has a GIAC chip already, can that be re-flashed with new software or does he need to order a new ECU from a company with everything that was added and then have it dialed in on a dyno?

Do you tell the company what was done so they can custom a chip for your car then you have to dyno it and a tuner shop adjust things?

I was asking about P&Ping the heads and manifolds for more airflow from the larger turbo's.

fix the broken k03 and get a manual s4..then go from there..there are some stage 2+ cars that hang with stage 3 tips IIRC

Re: What should be mated with the K04's to make them work correctly?

i know the rs4 MAF would work, but im pretty sure its OD is bigger than the stock s4 stuff. i dont know how much modding your planning on, but im pretty sure this should work

    http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...ategory=Intake

i would double check with your tuner, or somebody that has done a stage swap them selves. but im pretty sure.

the other thing is, if the Tip is stock, i would be worried about goin stage 3. just because us 6sp guys upgrade our clutches and i highly doubt a tip will last long. but u should be smart enough to figure that one out
