It's actually an authentic 1969 COPO Camaro 427ci/425 hp L72. One of 210 ever made let alone still in one piece.

    and it sold for $46,269.69

Or the fact that only 210 were ever built and only a handful of L72s exsist today and it was of the most powerful production cars of it time, not even available through dealerships other than word of mouth special order. Or that a fresh COPO Camaro can fetch upwards of $225,000.00? Yeah, you can't expect everyone to know.

Re: How much do you think this car is worth?

It looks like there's a lot less displacement than 427ci. So, based on your pic, there's not motor and it still fetched $46K?

Yes, you can replace a the motor with a correct one even if isn't the original however you can't replace what is around it. You can't piece together an entire body and have it still be the original hence why it is so important.

BFD.For $225k there are alot better cars to buy thatl'll hold it's value better than that turd. The only way you'll get that money is either the numbers match or you have a sucker. The muscle car has peaked. It is going down hill.If you hire someone to do the work it'll cost you over $100k.I think it's dumb to spend $225k on a car that looks just like a car you can buy for $20k

Re: How much do you think this car is worth?

    210 of nothing equals zero.

whats so different? color, rear axle ratio? engine size? its no different than a jeep Cherokee "sport" or a Cavalier Z24, its the exact same thing with a few cosmetic frills to make it seem like some radically different product so that gullible people will buy it.

at least when the Europeans make a performance version of a car there is something exclusive about it, like the engine, suspension, transmission, brakes, chassis, etc. your not just getting a car with a bigger engine.

the only old car i would ever bother restoring would be an old XK-E Jaguar on the metits of its design. Instead of detroit where you have people with a drafting diploma designing cars, the XKE was designed by people with art degrees, who have studied modern & classical art along with mechanical design.

What some people seem to forget is that a) "better" is nothing more than an opinion when it comes to expressing yourself through car ownership or modification, and b) most people who buy a $225K muscle car can also afford to buy several of these other "alot better" cars you're referring to right along with it. They can also usually afford to lose money on the car just like most everyone else does on their car purchases or loans--the numbers are larger, but so are their bank accounts...

the only people that would pay that money would be collectors ready to dump a crap load of money to restore it to show room condition to the "T". I wonder if the have the paper trail to go along with the car. Might fetch a good amount of money when finished.

A 550hp stock 1969 car is nothing to sneeze at. I have driven a 67 Vette with the 427 and dealer installed aluminum heads and it was amazing.

How much do you think a Group B SWB Sport Quattro rolling chassis would go for?

    Put a 427 and a drive train in a fridge it'll go like hell.But it's still a fridge.Corvette by 1987 was nothing special.In the 30's Audi was getting 550hp out of a 6 liter and 236mph.

see? no one knows about the car. They'l think at best it'll be a Yenko camaro. If I saw it on the road, i'd be like "o cool, a muscle car".. you spend 46 grand on a rolling chassis. a rusted rolling chassis at best. You'll have to dump hundreds of thousands of dollars into it to get it perfect again, and what do you ahve then? a $300k+ muscle car that no one knows about. not worth it imho. i'd rather have a sick ass car that people will know about and give a shit about

That's unbelievable. I can't believe someone would pay that much for that piece of shit. I understand it's rare, but come on it's still a Camaro. Reminds me of SRT-4 drivers, "it's not a neon, it's an SRT-4!!!" Wooptie doo!
