turbo/clutch job and car goes into gear but doesnt move?

just did a turbo/clutch job on an s4 and the car doesnt move. pretty positive i didn't fk anythin up.. but who knows. if i put the car into any gear, release the clutch, the car just sits there and doesnt move, but rpm rise. speedo doesnt. seems like the clutch is just slipping. all axles r connected and tight... and if i broke a cv re-installing the axles i think id hear it when it was trying to move, no? suggestions? thx

if the car is not moving at all and the engine is running, my guess if you did not install/align the shifter correctly.

Can you shift into 1st and reverse with out any problems? just gear wise, can you push down and get into reverse?

if u broke a cv joint, u would definitely hear that.

yes i can shift into every gear no problem, i can also hear them selecting in the tranny

Can you hear/feel any difference when you push the clutch pedal in? Have you tried shifting without pushing the clutch in?

no differences when i put the pedal in or out.. also just installed a new slave and bled the system fully. shifts fine without pushing in clutch, car off of course..

input shaft?

i would try and see if u can turn the drive shaft by hand and hear the gears move in the tranny. unless you didnt tighten down the bolts to the fly wheel or something and its just spinning.

You have to retrace your steps when you reinstalled everything. think about every step and write it down.

ya i guess i will put the car in the air and see what it does in gear and running.. i torqued all the flywheel bolts to specs. this sux!

hmmmm, this doesn't sound good... You put in the new throw out bearing right? and the slave cylinder is in there right?

ya throwout is in right, brand new slave is in right.. i can hear it pushing the pressure plate normally

What about when the car is on can you put it in the gear without pushing the clutch? If yes than the pressure plate is not on the clutch, either the clutch spun or it's not installed right. I have seen it installed backwards in a different car but i dont think this is possible on an S4.. Look around maybe you forgot to install the throwout bearing lol

I was helping a friend install a stage 2 clutch on his B7 and it did the same thing. After taking out the tranny we found out that he received a wrong clutch disk and had so get a new one, everything was fine after we got a replacement in. Just a thought.

it def seems like a pressure plate issue to me.. not clamping hard enough is what it feels like to me. guess im droppin the tranny lol

Which clutch/PP/FW did you use?

oem flywheel, rs4 disc/pp.. i used the tranny bolts to pull the tranny to the block. i think the input shaft didnt seat properly, gonna drop the tranny this weekend
