Integrate your iPod Professionally with Dice Electronics!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Vivid Racing is now a distributor and installer of Dice Electronics iPod integration kits for your performance vehicle. Get seemless integration with your factory radio or navigation unit using the Dice system. These are NOT FM modulators. These are full integration iPod systems.

Connect your iPod to your vehicle's factory entertainment system and hear what your iPod should sound like in your Audi. CD-quality sound and controlled from your Audi's radio or steering wheel buttons without the need for messy adapters or FM transmitters. The DICE SILVERLINE iPod integration kit always keeps your iPod integrated, charged and ready to go. The DICE SILVERLINE iPod integration kit will also display text from your iPod onto your Audi's Radio/Navigation display allowing you to view Artist, Song Title and Album name while both hands are safe on the steering wheel.

The Radio interface version of the DICE kit is a favorite among professional installers. This kit allows a direct connection directly at the radio, eliminating a long cable from the CD changer connectors in the trunk. This also provide a shorter cable route, reducing the possibility of engine noise. The Radio interface kit is also choice for models that do not have CD Changer prewiring.

A clean factory looking installation is possible with our sleek iPod docking cable (included), allowing full connectivity for all iPods utilizing a dock connector - including the iPhone and iPod touch.

The DICE SILVERLINE iPod integration kit connects right to the cd changer connectors or radio connector (depending on configuration) already present in your Audi. The DICE SILVERLINE module transfers information between the iPod and radio through an included iPod-specific docking cable, as if it were an original Audi accessory.

New features of DICE SILVERLINE iPod Integration kit include:

    - Direct integrated connection, without the need for FM transmiters or casette adapters
    - Full Text Display (CD43 users only)
    - Full control of your iPod via the radio buttons while in play
    - Browse by Individual Song
    - Browse by Individual Playlist
    - Browse by Individual Albums
    - Source Selector w/ Integrated AUX input
    - Album Selection
    - Full charging mode for iPods through included dock connector

You can browse your iPod with the radio buttons without booting into separate modes. Using the integrated DIP switches allows you to revert from DICE and Simple UI mode, Allowing the iPod to remain in "iPod UI" allows for a basic operation of the iPod's Clickwheel and can be switched to Enhanced DICE mode at any time.

Like they stated above, it will not function correctly with the iphone 3g. It will play the music without a problem, but it will NOT charge the 3g

Unfortunately, it will not. According to Adam at Dice, they are currently in the R&D Phase of their MMI compatible kit, though it is not ready for the market as of yet.

This does NOT include an iPod dock station, this is simply for the DICE iPod integration kit

due to a hardware change by apple, most 3rd party accesories made for the ipod willnot charge the 3g iphone or new nano, there will be fixes for this availible shortly but none at this moment

Installing the integration kit would indeed lost functionality of the oem cd changer if it is external.

like snopyro said, "radio removal keys/tools".

the ebay listing has only two keys, while 2 will do the job, 4 will make it easier because you can keep the keys in all 4 slots, makes it easier to pull out the radio. IMO anyways.

This is where I got mine previously, but any one of them from online stores/ebay should work:

You don't have to physically remove your changer, though connections from the changer to the back of your OEM head unit are needed. Hence why you'll be losing functionality of your changer, as stated earlier.

Touch is not currently supported for charging purposes. Very similar situation as with the iPhone 3g.

It should navigate with the wheel. Also if someone else has a different ipod it should attach fine with what comes with the integration kit. If, by chance your ipod is newer than the one being switched out to, the system can tend to lag with the changing from newer to older ipod software according to DICE..

So how can you browse by Artist, Song, Album, etc. if it does not support text on the radio?

If they can get the text to show on an RNS-E I'll buy one yesterday. If not I'll stick with the POS OEM iPod adapter.

I do not know, as I personally haven't gone in and physically removed the audio components of any of our customer's audi's. I'll try to find out.

Re: Integrate your iPod Professionally with Dice Electronics!

Thumbs up for the quick shipping via fedex and good pricing. I installed the DICE unit over the weekend and it worked perfectly.

My older DICE unit on the B6 can only detect a limit of 6 Ipod playlist, this new DICE unit has no limit, I was able to scroll thru all my playlists (I have like 13 of them).

Steering controls work with power on.

Just a note the adapter-to-ipod cable is sufficient if you plan on putting the ipod in the glovebox, but it's about 1 ft too short if you want to run it to the armrest.

    HTH.
