    Help needed - headlight switch

I just went to replace my old scratched headlight switch with a new one.

When i was attempting to remove my old one i must of stripped it by turning the dial past its range of motion.

Now the knob and the circular ring part are disconnected and the base is still stuck inside. And it won't connect back properly for me to remove the entire unit.

What the hell do i do?

Re: Help needed - headlight switch

Dont know if this will help but worth a try... IIRC the way the nob works is that when you push it in and turn to the right it disengages a couple fin like things which lets you pull the base out. Look at the knob and see if theres anything that protrudes at all. Then check the base to see if theres a spot where those protrusions could slide into. If you find the spots maybe theres a way to stick something in there to disengage the fins. The fins should be toward the front of the base so it shouldnt be too hard to get to them. Other than that the only way I see it coming out is if you pull out the panel underneath the steering wheel and finding a way to push it out from behind.

lol someone is DIY-tarded. my best advice is grab an 8mm rachet and drop the knee bolster(3 bolts and some clips). try to push the knob in and twist it right then push the whole assembly out from the back.

so you pushed your switch in, and then turned it more than a 1/4 turn? it only needs to turn less than 1/4 turn to come out
