    Re: Test Pipes...

Because they can and people will still buy it. I was talking to my friend the other day and I was like "Why do turbo's have to be so damn expensive?" And he said "Because people like you will still buy them." So that's probably why lol!

I don't understand why people spend so much on a 12" long piece of steel pipe (the ecode one specifically).

    Re: Test Pipes...

newb question but i have looked into getting a test pipe but someone told me that you will throw a cel light cause of the second o2 sensor or something? is there a way to get around this cause i would love to get one... would it really do any good with a stock exhaust though?

    Re: Test Pipes...

I hate the sound of my borla exhaust after installing the VMR TP. I love how quick my turbo spools now, so it's a trade off.

    Re: Test Pipes...

There will always be trade-offs from removing the restrictive honeycomb structure inside you stock exhaust system. Sound and smell come to mind, but the positive side is the quicker turbo spool and increased power available due to less back-pressure. You'll really see some nice gains after a software tune too.

whatever testpipe you get, make sure you get stainless, since you don't want the pipe and welds to rust and leak/break.

    Re: Test Pipes...

I searched and saw thet the hotside turbo exit is a little less than 3inches and i keep seeing all these 2.5 inch TPs, wouldnt that create the step between the hotside and TP? is it better to get the 3inch even with stock turbo?

    Re: Test Pipes...

I am running the 3 inch 034 test pipe with my K03 and its pretty gosh dang spiffy. Better to have the "step" at the top of the downpipe rather than right behind the turbine housing. And since eventually i will upgrade my turbo with nothing bigger than a 2871 elim, it was the best option for me
