What is an mbc supposed to do??

I know guys what an mbc does,or thought so.It regulates boost.I have a nice turboXS bleed and ball type on my car.The car run perfect,no problems at all.Put it on,tuned for 1.4bars and everything was smooth.

A week ago,i decided to completely turn it off to run the lowest boost possible because i was sick of spending 25$ everyday for gas.Anyway,i opened the hood,turn it all the way down on both valves and took her for a drive.I was expecting to see something like 0.1-0.3...So let the car warp up and went wot.I felt a very unexpected torque even before i had a change to look at my boost gauge.So i take a look and i see 1.5bars!!!

I'm like wtf???Still haven't figured it out

Not sure how the Turbo XS works, but if it's a screw type, you need to release tension on the spring to allow the ball to be forced open earlier, which will open the waste gate.

Which means loosen it, not tighten. Sounds like you turned it the wrong direction.

You must be doing something wrong.

I run my bleed type in between my N75 and my wastegate actuator, and I can adjust it as I want. Without using the N75, just the bleed type alone, I couldn't boost past 13psi.

I turned it the wrong way the first time, and remembered how slow my car is @ WOT and 7psi.

Because you closed it not opened it, you want to allow all the pressure to the WG so it opens and you run off of just the wg spring which can be anywhere from 5psi to 15psi depending on what turbo you have. So to do that you have to open the MBC all the way not close it.

BTW do you close a door when you want to walk to the other side?
