Allroad Air suspension question

Hey guys I just have a quick question and hope that someone can shed some light on this. My brother owns a 01' Allroad and has been a proud owner since last year. His air suspension is acting up on him but it's a strange situation. He says that when he drives he sets it to level 2 and everything is fine, the front stays up as well as the back but on occasion the front just drops on its own while driving and then the air ride light comes on. It does this on and off and sometimes stays like this. Keep in mind the back still stays up at a level 2 while the front is completely slammed. Can someone tell me if the air suspension is going out or is there a short or possible a bad connection somewhere? Any help is appreciated.

Have the ride height sensor and air bags checked

sounds like a leaky bag and the compressor cant keep up. Ask him if the compressor is loud and keeps coming on.
