    Nope.

IIRC all the tools you need to take apart the front suspension are 16/18/19 mm wrenches/sockets. a BFH and screwdriver help with the pinch bolt, too.

Ohh shit I can't remember exactly... same stuff and I think you need a 13mm socket for the strut mount, and you'll want some good sized extensions and a swivel to get to those.

This is a pretty good writeup to read through before you begin:

You don't need to go near the pinch bolt. There are a pair of small removable plugs by the false firewall that hide the strut bearing mounting nuts. Remove those and the lower strut mount bolt and pull the assembly out.

Dan (DJWimbo) and I did this on the S4 a week or two ago. That one had the front lower mount bolts in backwards which made it much more difficult that it needed to be.

Word. Don't put the bolts in backwards at the bottom of the strut. It makes removal a PITA.

the tool you speak of is handy for some other VAG cars, but I've yet to use it on a B5. Mk4 I use it a lot for spindle removal.

Everyone says how bad the pinch bolts are, but mine came right off first try!
