Read as much as I could find on this topic...FMIC vs. SMIC and he decided the SMIC's was the way to go so there would be no HS on the radiator from the blocking FMIC. We will do a complete write-up on the CX SMIC hoping we can make a video of it because that was asked of before.

Btw....whats the best BOV to install??? Must be a Honda prior owner thing to ask.

LOL...seriously though he did ask which one but I educated him to upgrade to Forge DV's.

is there an acutal question in there somewhere or am I just missing it?

034 uses a much larger FMIC than the CX and they still manage to run their time attack car on the stock radiator with a 600hp VR6 btw.

No questions but just a statement that I did research on this site, instead of asking questions before doing a search and getting flamed. Since some members were asking for a video write up of a IC write up, I just thought we would do that when the K04 and SMIC swap is started.

You can count on the set up logged once completed. I know there is alot of interest on this topic concerning this brand of IC.

The guy he bought the B5 S4 off of said it has a GIAC chip, so if that is true and after the K04's and SMIC's are completed and the chip is re-flashed what type of HP gains can be reasonably expected?

He also be getting DP's installed at the same time.

    getting k04's and a reflash? that's it?

needs more than that for the k04's to be worth it

Thanks that should provide some great info. But there was no video write-up on a SMIC though so I thought this would be a good time to do one.

Those CX racing SMIC are not good, the end tanks are designed badly and the core isn't so big.

Thats because the Time attack car is moving, if you're doing alot of city driving then the heat soak could become an issue.

Im not into racing so spending the extra money on ER's or awe smics's is a waste of money

i'd be happy with cxracing smic's they gotta be better then the stock IC's with plastic end tanks

Has anyone logged CX SMICs yet??

It would very helpful to compare them against stocks or RS4s. Because the price would make sense to people that are not looking to track/race.

even a butt dyno comment would help.

I'm thinking about a FMIC or these SMIC (same manufacturer as the JHM FMIC that everyone praises) but the 034 intake spacers are probably what will give me more what i want (lose the inconsistent power in the summer).

I have them on a car that is pieces right now. I don't know if I would do them again. You have to drill them and make your own mounts for them and the ic shrouds.

I have huge heatsoak issues in the summer, but Audi didn't put front fans on the cars because they think Canadians live in igloo's year 'round.

Why can't a6 guys go frount mount? If anything, they can do a better job than the s4's because they have more room behind their bumper.

no our power steering lines and auxillary fans are all over the place and the shape of the bumeper as well, we would have to cut out the bumper and it would look like ass
