    Strange/Possible Misfire Issue??

    Sup everyone..
Well I just got rid of my CEL this past weekend by replacing my rear o2's sensors... The car runs and pulls great... but when logging the car via vagcom i noticed that the logs under "misfire detection" that it was saying the engine was misfiring on cylinder 3, and 4.

The car has never thrown any CEL's except one for the o2 sensors.. There are no codes to be read... but if you go to log the cylinder misfire blocks... it shows that the engine is misfiring at idle... however it doesnt sound soo...

My service records state that the spark plugs were changed during the 40k mile service... but who knows if they really put new plugs in the car at the dealer.... I was thinking about getting some new spark plugs and changing them to see if that will help the misfire issue... However im not sure what spark plugs to get also (bosch sidefires, ngk??) and what heat range?

My has 68k miles on it, and is stage 2+

The car runs and drives great... i just rather not let a little problem turn into a bigger one... so any help/advice is appreciated.. thanks in advance

pressure test it - a boost leak can cause a misfire.
check ICMs and plugs (i use Bosch tri-electrode coppers with heat range 6 from 034)
    check coilpacks

could be a bunch of things. misfires are more common then a cold.

    Re: Strange/Possible Misfire Issue??

The car has been pressure tested before, and it checked out fine... I get 21-23 inches of mercury for vacuum, and i spike 18-20psi and then it tapers to redline...
I didnt want to use the copper plugs because I hear you have to change them more often then i would like..

Is there any test to test out the coil packs or ICM's?? I Dont have a bently manual so im not too sure if there is or not... if there is please let me know.. thanks..

well one way to check ICMs are if you have misfiring on a spec. bank you can swap the plugs on the ICMs and if they follow there then that's your problem. ive NEVER been that lucky and had anything so easy to diagnose my problem but hey, some people have better luck !
