B8 S4 - Not till Fall 2009?

Spoke to a sales guy at a local dealership (not MY dealership, and not MY salesman) who said he didn't think the B8 S4's would be delivered to customers (dealers) till Fall 2009?! Does anyone know if this is true? If so, I'm in a bit of a predicament, as my lease expires July 2009. Of course, if I have to, I'll extend the lease for a few months. That said, I was planning on ordering in late May for a late July delivery....?!

Any thoughts? People heard anything?

you are in the same predicament my dad is in. THe dealer also said late fall, so now he's going to get another car. Way to go audi

I think it's well worth waiting for... looks like I'll extend my lease for a few months. Or, since I have a pretty good and long standing relationship with my dealership, I'm going to see if they can put me in a used B7 S4 for a few months.... maybe a pre-owned one on the lot? I drive +/- 800 miles / mo... wouldn't be adding that many miles to it. Don't know how farfetched this is-- need to look into it.

Anyone ever tried something like that?

Guess what? I was at the dealer yesterday (not my dealer, nor my salesman either), and he told me the B8 wasn't even coming! I showed him the B8 on his showroom floor, and he told me that's an A4...not a B8.

B8 stands for the chassis platform
like your a4 is a B6 the new a4 is called A4 B8

When I bought my 2005 s4 they told me the 06 new bodystyle wouldn't be out for another year, 2 months later the new bodystyle was sitting in the showrooms.

my dad is good friends with my local dealer and they gave him a 08 tt 3.0 with 8k miles for a week and a half until his b8 arrived. he didn't have to sign any papers or anything they just handed him the keys and he took off. fun car i must admit

Very nice guy...but he even admitted he didn't know much about the model designations. I told him I had a B6 S4 Avant, but he didn't seem to know what I was saying.

You're telling me...I thought they sent these people to some sort of school or at least a class on the products they sell.

He hadn't even gone to the Audi Driving Experience or driven the new A4 with Audi Drive Select - he said he had no idea how it worked.

No, I don't work for Rusnak. I actually work for an auto broker. I know a few people at the dealer which is why I asked. I guessed Rusnak because you're from Pasadena.
