not again, new diverter valve fails

Ok, I think the shop i got these from are a bunch of liars, they sold me 710G's and the invoice said "710N" now usually that there would make me take up an issue untill i read that the dealerships were selling 710G valves in packaging that said 710N. is this true, or are these guys selling me obsolete parts, or valves that are inteded for a VAG car running a lower boost level?

regardless, the drivers side one failed after 3000KM, and now my passenger side one has failed at 3500KM. the car isn't chipped and i don't have oil in my charge pipes. most people seem to get at least 15000 miles out of their valves before they fail, 3000KM seems very out of the ordinary.

I've gotten about 20,000 MILES out of my 710n, 15k of them running 17lbs and 5k running 21 lbs. Somethings fishy.

710N used to be the better valves to get. Not sure about the 710G, but they are up to 710P now

It's not uncommon to get parts from dealers with old part numbers on the box

The shop may have just labeled/called them 710N to present it as the better valve

The 06A 145 710 G diverter valve was dropped on January 9th 2001 and replaced with an updated version. This means that dealers could no longer get that version when placing an order.

As of today, 06A 145 710 P is the replacement valve for every 1.8T and the RS6's 4.2 Biturbo.

The 2.7T (APB and BEL version) still show 034 145 710 B as the replacement part.

So in a nutshell, if someone sold you 710 G valves, they are waaaaay old.

Re: not again, new diverter valve fails

yeah, i went to the stealer today, and it listed "034 145 710 B" for my car, do these exist in the parts system still, I'm thinking "B" is a pretty old part.

most likely I'll go with those 710P valves next time these old ass 710G's fail, which they will.
