What motor mounts to go with?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Pretty much my car is all stock, 1.8T. I need to replace the motor mounts and don't know what to go with OEM or 034 Motorsports Street line. I don't think Ill be doing any engine mods in the future as this is going to be a daily. I have a Apikol snub and short shifter but thats pretty much it. Is it better to go OEM or 034? Thanks

Re: What motor mounts to go with?

the 034 motor mounts don't use a liquid inside like the OEM ones, and thus should last longer.

Purems has been doing testing on their new engine mounts that should be coming out soon, so that could be another option.

Only thing I've been reading with 034 Street is cabin vibration, or does that depend on how it was installed?

Re: What motor mounts to go with?

dont just change the motor mounts. if you have stock mounts for the snub, motor, and tranny, change all of them at once. they are not that expensive to change

Good point. I would have replaced the front snub mount when I did my engine and trans mounts but my aftermarket one was fine and still going strong (one of the few).

Re: What motor mounts to go with?

thinking about a set of these motor mounts after i saw how damn easy they look to install. i am thinking the trackdensity ones. i want to know though if the transmission mount they sell will work on a tiptronic car? and if not, won't stiffening up the engine and not the transmission cause issues since the tranny will have much more play whiel the engine is being held firm?

if you have two tranny mounts then you need to buy the B5 S4 tranny mounts from 034.
