Unless Audi changes its stance on how many RS models it has going at one time I doubt it will happen with this iteration of the A3.

We've got RS6 and RS5 in or coming down the pipe. R8 is still in production with TT-RS right around the corner. After that it will be time for the next RS4. I wouldn't count on an RS3 for at least 4 years, if ever! And we surely wouldn't see it in the U.S.

first off I don't think it is too far fetched an Idea that Audi may produce it. yes they do have the "RS6 and RS5 in or coming down the pipe. R8 is still in production with TT-RS right around the corner" but whose to say the RS4 is next or that they don't put them both out at a similar time? but then again I'm a glass half full kinda fella

    Re: New RS3

have you guys seen some of these quotes???

    canut4ever

Audi is in the danger of putting out too many variations of its performance models. Why the S series when you can go directly to the RS series? It will confuse the market.

    Robert

#2 very true… I really don’t know what the difference is between the RS models and the S models…..

    wickedated

My feeling is that eventually the S models will be substituted by RS models, especially when BMW’s M-cars and the new Benzes’ AMG start coming out

    They have no idea....

    Re: New RS3

This thread is ridiculous. The leftlanenews article is from 2006 and so much has changed that it is utterly useless to even reference that thread :). The best guess of anything even remotely close to an official RS3 is the Clubsport A3 TDI which isn't even that fast at 0-60 in 6.6 seconds and just a little too extreme to realistically be sold anywhere. I'd love to see an official RS3 come out of Audi but even with the limited production of S an RS cars in general -- I've got to think an RS3 would have a realistic buying population of 2-3000 world-wide given its eventual pricing. Here's hoping!

Here is the link to the A3 CLubsport TDI:
