how fast can the 12v go?

How fast have you taken your v6 12v's before they can go no more?

They are supposed to be limited at 130.. But can they really go 130? Iv had a hard time getting it up to 120 to tell you the truth.

depends how long the track is, and if it has a downward slope.

had a audi b4 2.8 12v engine. had done some things to it
and it ran 145 mph with no problem.
must be said it was the nr on the speedo.
you should never believe it.

I've had my 30v 2.8 up to 125 no problem. Then I ran outta road so I had to slow down.

I hit 130 in my 12V. It took a long time though. An hour after I bought my 1.8T my roommate and I(driving the 1.8T) did a pull on the highway. 12V vs 1.8T, it was a joke. I pulled the 12V w/o downshifting.

60->limiter, I was far enough ahead of him it only looked like one headlight. I slowed down to 70, and lost count of how much time it took for him to catch up. He didn't hit the limiter until he passed me.

I will say this, the 12V seemed a lot more smooth at 117mph than the 1.8T does. 117 was the highest speed I could achieve on the first throttle plate.

I think they "officially" go 149. (That may be the 30v though) But if your tires aren't rated for those speeds, leave your will easily accessible.

Audi used the 12V as a race engine back in the day. It's an old school Audi engine and it's not at all mentioned on this forum. Check out Motor Geek

So yea the 12v can go over 120 i guess but just takes a decade. alright.

I've gotten mine a bit past 120, before running out of space due to traffic ahead. It wasn't accelerating very fast at that speed, though; I don't think it'd make it much past 130.

haha, all this "i once got it up to 125 on a 30 mile long stretch".

i used to get my lil ol 1.8t up to 125 on an up hil road w/ a gentle turn in it. the road was just over 1 mile long too
